“We felt we grew a good product.
Since we put in the TrueLeaf Munchkin Boiler and the Roll-N-Grow bottom heat, we’re growing an ‘excellent product’.”

Mike and Joe Weber

— Mike Weber,
Owner of Mike Weber Greenhouses

Weber Greenhouses, started back in 1978, with 4 small glass greenhouses that are still standing today and are being used for plugs and liners. They now have over 80,000 square feet and are still expanding to serve their growing customer base. Primarily, Weber Greenhouses grows vegetative crops, liners, fresh herbs, and bedding plants to service the family run retail facility in the spring, and the large customer base they deliver to.

Weber does very little advertising as the business has been grown by word of mouth, and they have been on the local Buffalo news many times and in the local newspapers. And as some of the best growers are located in the Gardnerville, New York area, people travel for miles to come in the spring for plants. With great product selection, Mike Weber loves sharing his growing knowledge with the hobby plant growers over the phone or even in person in the retail shop. This type of service keeps his clients coming back.

To help with the greenhouse operations, Joe Weber, Operations Manager, has come back to assist his father in the family run business. One thing Joe has brought to his father is the vast knowledge of fresh herbs with cooking and their many uses. Also a keen sense about growing quality products (must be in the genes.) And with Joe now involved more with the business, it was time to make changes with heat to help the bottom line.

The 4 glass houses are where most of the propagation takes place. In the past, Mike would use forced air under the benches for heat. When it hit -10°F one winter and temperatures were not holding Mike turned to Joe and said, “It’s time we upgrade to something else.” After doing a lot of investigating, they spoke with the regional technical advisor, Larry Moore of TrueLeaf Technologies. Mike and Joe Weber were very impressed that Larry took the time to explain every little detail to them. When it was time to make the investment for the Roll-N-Grow bench heating and the Munchkin high-efficiency boiler (99.8%), they were very confident their decision was the right one for many years to come.

Today, the Webers are very pleased with their overall TrueLeaf experience and the excellent service they have received.
